The NC State volleyball team will travel to Durham on Sunday to take on the Duke Blue Devils on the court at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The Wolfpack (10-15, 5-8 ACC) is fresh off a thrilling five-set victory over Wake Forest and is 2-1 in the month of November. Meanwhile, the Blue Devils (11-15, 4-9 ACC) have dropped back-to-back matches since winning three in a row toward the end of October.
Leading the way for Duke at the net will be middle blocker Ada Owokoniran, who paces the Blue Devils with 265 kills. Outside of Owokoniran will be outside hitters Gracie Johnson and Payton Schwantz, who are second and third on the team with 181 and 167 kills, respectively.
Libero Mackenzie Cole roams the back line for Duke, while setters Camille Nazor and Sarah Nelson do the work putting their trio of hitters in position for the kills. Middle blocker Lily Cooper is a menace at the net with 113 total blocks.
Duke struggles with serving at times, and the Wolfpack will be looking to take advantage of the Blue Devils’ mistakes. Duke is committing over two service errors per set, and has committed 202 total on the year.
The Wolfpack currently sits one game out of eighth place in the conference, and if it wants to qualify for the ACC Championship, it needs a win over Duke. NC State is tied with Miami for ninth place in the ACC while Duke is one game behind, tied for 11th.
The match begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Cameron Indoor Stadium and will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
