The No. 3 men’s and No. 7 women’s swimming and diving teams climbed their way to the top against Kentucky, Missouri and Arkansas.
On the women’s side, the Pack took down No. 14 Kentucky 213-140 along with a 261-91 win over Arkansas, but fell in its match against No. 9 Missouri, when the Tigers came out on top 206.5-146.5.
As for the men, NC State took a tough loss to the No. 4 Missouri Tigers once again as they outscored NC State 252.5-100.5, but nonetheless the Wolfpack prevailed over No. 17 Kentucky, 195-158.
With a total of three team wins on the weekend, this pushed head coach Braden Holloway over 100 wins since he has been with the program.
Junior Kate Moore highlighted the ladies as she took home three individual titles in the events over the two-day meet and freshman Ross Dant shined his way through the weekend after collecting a pair of wins for the Pack.
NC State continued to dominate in the men’s freestyle on day two, after posting the three fastest times in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Dant led the Pack in this heat as he touched the wall at 9:02.03, ranking fourth in the nation so far this season.
Reigning NC State program record holder for the 100-yard butterfly, sophomore Kylee Alons, continued her success in the event taking the top finish, clocking in at 53.54.
With a final finish of three team wins and four event titles, the Pack remains two of the top-ranked teams in the country and will prepare for its upcoming meets.
Up next NC State will host the NC State/GAC Invitational from November 21-23, inside Greensboro Aquatic Center when the Pack goes head-to-head against Arizona State, Auburn, Duke and Wisconsin.
