It is a very busy week here at NC State for Pack sports teams. There are numerous home games as well as a few events just down the road from campus.
Friday, Oct. 4
6 p.m. Men’s Soccer vs. Notre Dame (Dail Soccer Field)
The 5-2-1 Pack men’s soccer team returns for its first home match since Sept. 17. The team is coming off a strong road win against No. 17 Louisville. The Wolfpack has been very successful at home so far this season, with a 4-1-0 record, and it will be interesting to see how it competes with Notre Dame, which is 5-3-1 on the season and 2-1-1 in away matches.
7 p.m. Volleyball vs. Virginia Tech (Reynolds Coliseum)
NC State volleyball (5-10) hosts Virginia Tech (7-8) in its fourth conference match, which has had a slow start in conference play this year, posing a 0-3 conference record. While Virginia Tech has a stronger record overall, the Hokies are also 0-2 in conference play. These two teams have not seen each other since Sept. 30, 2018, when NC State won 3-1.
Saturday, Oct. 5
All day Saturday and Sunday: Men’s Golf vs. Wolfpack Intercollegiate (Lonnie Poole Golf Course)
Just a short drive from campus, you can catch the men’s golf team in the Wolfpack Intercollegiate. This is only one of two events all season that will be in the local area, so be sure to come out and support.
10:15 a.m. Cross country at Great American Cross Country Festival (WakeMed Soccer Park XC Course, Cary, N.C.)
Also just down the road from NC State, you will be able to catch the cross country team at the Great American Cross Country Festival. This will be its third match of the season and the only match left that is close to campus. Both teams will have a short turnaround, as they’ll be returning from the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational in Indiana the day before.
7 p.m. Women’s soccer vs. Boston College (Dail Soccer Field)
The NC State women’s soccer team (5-4-2, 0-1-2 ACC) returns home on Saturday for its first home match since Sept. 15 to go against Boston College (8-2-1, 1-2-0 ACC). Senior midfielder Tziarra King currently leads the ACC in total points, goals per game and points per game, not to mention that she is currently ranked in the top 12 in the NCAA in all three categories. This is also the annual pink match, so come show your support against breast cancer.
Sunday, Oct. 6
1 p.m. Softball vs. North Carolina (Dail Softball Stadium)
NC State softball hosts North Carolina for its fourth fall game. These two teams last played each other in May, and North Carolina topped NC State 6-1 in the ACC Tournament. The Wolfpack started its fall season with a strong 17-0 win against Louisville but tied against Longwood 7-7.
Tuesday, Oct. 8
7 p.m. Men’s soccer vs. East Tennessee State University (Dail Soccer Field)
The men’s soccer team has its second home game of the week against the East Tennessee State University Bucs. ETSU is currently 3-3-2 on the season and they haven’t started conference play yet. They’ll be looking for a win to start off its upcoming four-game road trip.
Wednesday, Oct. 9
7 p.m. Women’s soccer vs. Virginia (Dail Soccer Field)
The women’s soccer team also has a second home game this week. It will host the Virginia Cavaliers, which are currently ranked No. 9 in the NCAA and are undefeated this season with notable wins against No. 8 Penn State, Virginia Tech and Georgetown.
