The NC State women’s soccer team is headed on the road to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania after three straight home games, to take on the Pitt Panthers. The Wolfpack (6-4-4, 1-1-4 ACC) is coming off of two straight ties against Virginia and Virginia Tech.
The Panthers (4-7-3, 1-3-2 ACC) are coming off of a home loss to third-ranked UNC-Chapel Hill, 3-1. Both teams have played Boston College and UNC, with each team beating the Eagles and losing to the Tar Heels.
While the Wolfpack has four ties more than halfway through ACC play, showing its ability to hang with the top teams in the conference, it just hasn’t been able to come away with the win besides its match against Boston College.
It has been no surprise that senior midfielder Tziarra King is leading the team in goals with 10 and total points with 24. Freshman forward Jameese Joseph has had a positive first season with two goals and three assists for the Pack.
This should be a momentum building match for the Pack, looking to get on the scoreboard early and not look back against a struggling Pitt team.
The offensive threat for the Panthers to keep an eye on is freshman forward Amanda West. She has contributed eight goals and eight assists on the year for her squad. This will be the Panthers’ four straight match against a team either in the top-25 rankings or receiving votes.
The match will begin at 7:00 p.m. Saturday night and can be seen on the ACC Network Extra.
