After three tough road games for the Wolfpack, the NC State women’s soccer team (5-4-2, 0-1-2 ACC) will return to Dail Soccer Field to face the Eagles (8-2-1, 1-2-0 ACC) in what will be the Pack’s first home game in conference play.
The Eagles have started off their season strong, with eight wins and only two losses to No. 6 Florida State and No. 22 Louisville, in which both were losses by a single goal.
The Eagles are led on the attack by midfielder Sam Smith, who has had eight goals this season and is currently tied for third most in the ACC, with three of her goals being game-winning goals for the Eagles. Also leading the offense for the Eagles is forward Olivia Vaughn, who sits as Boston College’s active career-leading scorer.
On defense for the Eagles is starting goalkeeper Allie Augur, with four shutouts this season, placing her tied for second among all ACC goalkeepers.
NC State’s star midfielder, senior Tziarra King, leads the Pack on offense with 22 points. King has nine goals and four assists so far this season.
The defense will be led by junior goalkeeper Jessica Berlin, who has had seven saves in the past three road games, only conceding a lone goal in each of the games.
The Pack will be looking for its first ACC win of the season. After three low-scoring games, it is crucial for NC State to get the ball in the back of the net early, with Boston College having scored the first goal in 10 of its 11 matches this season.
The match is set to kick off Saturday at 7 p.m. at Dail Soccer Field and will be televised on the ACC Network.
