The No. 15 NC State rifle team hosted a matchup against No. 17 North Georgia. Two events, the smallbore series and air rifle series, were hosted at Reynolds Coliseum. The Wolfpack typically hosts every other year, its last being against the same team on Nov. 19, 2017.
The final result was a 4640-4565 win for the Pack. Three members of the team recorded new career highs, allowing the Wolfpack to move to 2-0 on the season.
Sophomore Emily Fisher finished in the top spot with 1168, pushing the Wolfpack’s lead. She scored a 591 in air rifle and 577 in smallbore. Fisher recorded a 199 out of 200 in the prone series.
Freshman Makenzie Sheffield was in second for the day, setting career highs in smallbore and air rifle, with scores of 575 and 588, respectively. Freshman Addy Burrow got third for the day, scoring an 1160 aggregate score, her personal highest. She scored a 572 in smallbore and 588 in air rifle.
Freshman Aliya Butt made her college debut, scoring a 584 in air rifle, good enough for fourth in that event.
The Wolfpack will face No. 7 Navy (3-2) in Charleston, South Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 26.
