The NC State women’s tennis competed in the ITA Carolina Regionals this past weekend in Winston-Salem, NC. All nine members of the Pack competed in the weekend tournament.
It was a big weekend for the Pack, as senior Anna Rogers and sophomore Alana Smith were the doubles champions in the ITA Carolina Regionals, winning in convincing fashion, 6-4, 6-2. Rogers and Smith were All-Americans last year in doubles competition for the Pack, and their success has continued in the fall.
As for the rest of the Pack, five of the nine players made it to the round of 16 of singles that took place Saturday, which was No. 8 Rogers, No. 40 Smith, No. 83 junior Lexi Keberle, No. 84 senior Adriana Reami and junior Liz Norman.
Out of those five, Rogers and Smith were the two to advance in singles; however both lost in the quarterfinals in tight matches. Rogers lost to Carolyn Campana out of Wake Forest, 7-5, 7-6 (5), and Smith fell to Megan Davies from South Carolina 1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (11).
Next up for the Pack will be this weekend, in Chapel Hill, competing in the Kitty Harrison Invitational, before heading to Newport Beach, Calif. in two weeks for the ITA National Fall Championships.
