The NC State women’s soccer team will look to continue its success Thursday in Minneapolis against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

The Pack faced Duquesne earlier in the week and the Dukes were no match against the Wolfpack. With a solid 3-0 victory, the Wolfpack was able to swiftly bounce back after an unexpected loss versus unranked Iowa.

Minnesota has struggled so far this season, currently sitting at 0-4-2, and yet to win a regular-season game. The Golden Gophers will be coming off of a 2-0 loss against Virginia, their first match against a ranked opponent.

The Golden Gophers are led on offense by forward Makenzie Langdok, who has scored two goals so far this season and in goal will be goalkeeper Maddie Nielsen, who has played every minute for the team so far.

With the Golden Gophers yet to win a match this season, they will be hungry to take down No. 11 NC State.

The Pack will look to continue its success on offense by leaning on senior midfielder Tziarra King, who has continued to be an impact player for the Pack throughout the season.

NC State was led by redshirt sophomore defender Lulu Guttenberger in the game against Duquesne as she is coming off a standout performance with two goals. In goal for NC State is junior goalkeeper Jessica Berlin, who pitched a shutout against Duquesne on Sunday.

With an upset loss against Iowa just a few days ago, and ACC play approaching in less than two weeks, it is crucial for the Pack to solidify a win against unranked teams with difficult matchups on the rise. The Pack is set to start its ACC play against rival Duke on September 22nd.

NC State and Minnesota will kick off Thursday at 8 p.m. at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
