At the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Red Sky Golf Club in Walcott, CO, the NC State women’s golf team finished in ninth place out of 18 teams in its second tournament of the fall season. The combined score for the Wolfpack was 21 over par for the three-round tournament.
The Wolfpack showed tremendous improvement in comparison to its first tournament of the season in Hanahan, SC, which it finished 14th out of 17 teams.
The top performer for the Wolfpack was junior Monika Hartl who finished tied for 29th place with a score of 4 over par.
Not far behind Hartl was freshman Inja Fric, who finished tied for 34th place at 6 over par.
Another freshman was right behind Fric tied for 39th place, with a score of 7 over par, in Natalie Armbruester.
Sophomore Lea Klimentova came in at 9 over par, and tied for 48th place for the tournament, and freshman Pilar Bechot finished tied for 77th place with a score of 18 over par to round out the top five for NC State.
The Wolfpack competed with many different schools from across the country including Pepperdine, UCLA, Nebraska, Xavier, TCU, and Campbell. The winner of the Golfweek Conference Challenge was Ole Miss, with a combined score of 15 under par. Anna Zanusso from the University of Denver took home the individual title with a score of 11 under par.
NC State will be back in action October 11-13 for the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational at Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill.
