The NC State women’s soccer team will travel the short distance to Greenville to face the East Carolina in what will be the Pack’s last match before ACC play begins.

Coming off of a strong 3-1 win earlier in the week against Furman, the Wolfpack (4-3-0) will be looking to finish its nonconference schedule with a win.

While the Pirates (3-3-1) have struggled to pull out many wins so far this season, many of their losses have been close games, with only one harsh loss versus No. 6-ranked Virginia, who is undefeated. In addition, the Pirates are coming off of a 1-0 road win against UNC-Charlotte.

The Pirates’ offense will be led by forward Jenna Dages, the top returning scorer for East Carolina, with 17 goals in the 2018 season.

Leading the Pirates’ defense will be defender Jayda Hylton-Pelaia, who started all 19 games for the Pirates in 2018 and was named the AAC’s 2018 Defensive Player of the Week both Aug. 20 and Sept. 10, as well as the AAC’s 2019 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Hylton-Pelaia also represented Jamaica at the 2019 Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru.

For NC State, the Pack’s offense will be led by senior midfielder Tziarra King, who is coming off of a stellar performance against Furman where she found the net three times. 

In goal for NC State will remain starting goalkeeper Jessica Berlin, who has only allowed three goals in the last five games for the Wolfpack.

The game is set to kickoff at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Stadium in Greenville. It will be the first of four consecutive road games for the Pack.
