The NC State men’s and women’s golf team will each begin their 2019-20 campaign in three weeks. Both teams will compete in four tournaments in the fall, while the men will compete in six tournaments in the spring, and the women will compete in five tournaments before postseason play.
The men lost five seniors from last season, including Stephen Franken, who was the heart of the team. The Pack will lean on the likes of junior Easton Paxton and seniors Benjamin Shipp and Christian Salzer.
On the weekend of Sept. 8, the men will start their season with a two-day tournament at the Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minnesota, hosted by the University of Minnesota.
That next weekend of Sept. 13-15, the Wolfpack will travel to Carefree, Arizona to participate in the Maui Jim Intercollegiate, hosted by Georgia State University at Mirabel Golf Club.
NC State will be off for a few weeks before the weekend of Oct. 5-6, they will host the annual Wolfpack Intercollegiate at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course on Centennial Campus.
For their last tournament of the fall, the men’s team will head over to Jonesborough, Tennessee to compete in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at Blackthorn Club at the Ridges, hosted by East Tennessee State University.
On the women’s side, the Wolfpack lost three key seniors a season ago in India Clyburn, Naomi Ko and Laura Kowohl. The only senior on this year’s team is Mim Sangkapong.
The women’s schedule will see the Wolfpack begin its season Sept. 8-10 at Yeamans Hall Club in Hanahan, South Carolina for the Cougar Classic, hosted by the College of Charleston.
For Sept. 23-25, the Pack will head out west to Wolcott, Colorado to compete in the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Red Sky Golf Club.
Oct. 11-13 will see NC State stay in the Triangle to compete in the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, hosted by UNC-Chapel Hill.
For their last tournament of the fall, the Pack will travel to Wilmington, North Carolina to compete in the Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall, hosted by UNC-Wilmington.
Both of NC State’s golf teams will be broadcasted on the new ACC Network throughout the 2019-20 year.
