The NC State swimming & diving team hosts its first home ACC match of the year when UNC-Chapel Hill travels to Casey Aquatic Center on Saturday.
This is the first team competition since November, when the Wolfpack traveled to Indiana. On Jan. 4-6, the Pack diving team had individual competitions at the University of Georgia.
Junior diver Madeline Kline highlighted that trip to Athens with a win in the platform competition. Junior diver James Brady finished top seven on day one on the one-meter board and third in the platform competition on day three. In addition, sophomore diver Holt Gray also finished in the top seven on the one-meter board on day one and top five in the three-meter on day two.
In head-to-head competitions against other teams, each Pack team has wins over South Carolina and Duke in October.
Both the men’s and the women’s sides of the team are looking to contend for ACC and national championships. Both teams won the ACC championship in 2017 and are currently ranked No. 4 in the country. UNC is not ranked in men’s or women’s.
UNC competed against Navy and Penn State last weekend in Annapolis, Maryland. The men lost to Navy 134-161 and beat Penn State 155-145. On the women’s side, the Heels beat Navy 192-108 and also defeated Penn State 173-127.
The meet will begin at 11 a.m. at Casey Aquatic Center in Raleigh.
