North Carolina FC announced on Wednesday that they had come to an agreement with Celtic FC of Scotland for former NC State men’s soccer player Manny Perez to join the team on loan for the second season in a row.
“I’m really pleased that we’re able to get Manny back for season two with the club,” NCFC head coach Dave Sarachan said in a club statement. “I felt that Manny really grew from the very beginning of the year to the end as a professional. He had some injuries that sort of set him back, but I think he’ll have a much better starting point leading into our season compared to a year ago. He has a lot of ability that will hopefully come out.”
During his loan last season, Perez was in and out of the squad due to a string of injuries but when he played he was solid. Perez played 21 games, 12 starts, and while he did not score, he grabbed four assists.
Perez is already practicing with the club during its preseason and was present at the team’s first practice of the year on Monday.
