NC State men’s basketball coach Kevin Keatts picked up the biggest recruit of his short tenure Tuesday, as five-star guard Jalen Lecque committed to the Wolfpack via his personal social media accounts.
Lecque is a top-ranked guard in the class of 2019, coming from Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Lecque is a five-star recruit according to ESPN and Rivals. He is listed as a four-star recruit by 247 Sports.
All three of those recruiting sites have Lecque as a top-30 prospect for the class of ‘19, with him coming in highest on ESPN at No. 22. A 6-foot-4 combo guard, Lecque is the first commitment for NC State in the class of 2019. He is also the first five-star recruit to commit to the Wolfpack out of high school since point guard Dennis Smith Jr. in 2016.
