The track and field team will send three athletes to NCAA Championships next week after they qualified with their performances at last Friday and Saturday’s NCAA East Regional Championships.
Junior Julia Lucas qualified by virtue of her third-place finish in Friday’s 5,000-meter run, and two more N.C. State athletes punched their ticket to NCAAs on Saturday.
Junior Mitchell Pope’s second-place finish in the shot put pushed him into NCAAs.
Meanwhile, senior Ebony Foster set a new NCAA East Regional mark of 12.97 seconds to bring home the 100-meter hurdles title for the second straight year.
