Women’s basketball coach Kay Yow announced Wednesday in a press release she will be “taking a leave of absence from her coaching duties for an indefinite period of time” due to a progression of her breast cancer, which she was first diagnosed with in 1987. She also sat out for a short period two seasons ago when she had a recurrence of the cancer. Yow, 64, has 696 career victories. Associate head coach Stephanie Glance will be the interim coach until Yow returns.
