One Last TimeUniversity Theatre presents final play before closing Thompson’s doors for remodeling

Thompson Theater opens its doors tomorrow night for one last run before shutting down for a $16 million renovation.

This Thursday, University Theatre presents Les Liaisons Danereuses by Christopher Hampton. Adapted from the 1782 novel by Pierre Cholderlos de Lacios, Les Liaisons Danereuses enters the seductive world of Marquise de Merteuil, played by Meisha Gourley, a junior in arts applications, and Vicomte de Valmont, played by R. Andrew Payne, a grad student in communication and public relations, where love is nothing more than a sport. That is, until the unthinkable happens, and Valmont falls in love.

Uncharacteristic of other Cholderlos de Lacios adapataions, Hampton’s version of Les Liaisons Danereuses unfolds within a modern, glam rock setting, complete with classic rock scores.
