BaseballTeam moves up in rankings
The baseball team moved in both major college baseball polls this week. N.C. State moved up one spot to No. 25 in Collegiate Baseball’s poll and went from being unranked to No. 24 in the Baseball America rankings.
This is the first week this season that the Wolfpack has been ranked in both polls.

Women’s BasketballKey tabbed as one of ACC’s top defenders
For the third straight year, senior guard Ashley Key has been named to the ACC All-Defensive team. The Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association announced the team Tuesday.
So far this season, Key has six blocks and 33 steals, which ranks as the second-most on the team. By receiving this honor for the third time, Key joins just two other players in ACC history to achieve the accomplishment.

GymnasticsHancock honored again
Junior gymnast Leigha Hancock for the second straight week has been honored as the EAGL Specialist of the Week.
Competing in this past Sunday’s Master’s Classic, Hancock posted N.C. State’s top scores on the balance beam, the vault and in the floor competition. In the EAGL, she is ranked third on both the vault and balance beam and stands at eighth on the floor.
So far this season, Hancock has been named Specialist of the Week three times.

Men’s GolfTeam places 18th in Puerto Rico
On Tuesday the men’s golf team finished up its first tournament of the spring and placed 18th at the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
Senior Jerry Richardson posted the Wolfpack’s lowest final-round score with a 2-over-par 74. And sophomores Andrew Byrd and Wesley Tucker followed with a 76 and a 77, respectively.
State is next in action March 4-6 in Tallahassee, Fla., at the Seminole Intercollegiate tournament.
