The women’s basketball team won three games over Thanksgiving break, winning one home game and then sweeping two contests in the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas.
After cruising to an 80-47 win against Arizona on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Reynolds Coliseum, N.C. State defeated Washington State and Eastern Michigan on Friday, Nov. 23 and Saturday, Nov. 24, respectively. The team’s 63-41 win against EMU on Saturday was the Wolfpack’s smallest margin of victory in the three games.
The two wins in the Bahamas gave the Pack the championship in the Lucaya Division of the Junkanoo Jam. Khadijah Whittington, who scored 26 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in the championship against Eastern Michigan, was the tournament MVP.
State, which moved to 6-1 with the wins, plays next at 7 p.m. Thursday in Reynolds Coliseum against Illinois in the first women’s ACC/Big 10 Challenge.
