Technician: How much of a surprise has the season been so far? The two losses have come a lot sooner than most expected.
Douglas: It’s been all right besides the two losses. The two losses are in the past, and we got to move forward. You can’t dwell on the past if you’re looking for great things in the future.
Technician: What’s it like playing with a premier quarterback like Brian Brohm?
Douglas: That’s good. First thing is he’s a smart quarterback; he sees the field very well. It’s always good having a quarterback like him back there.
Technician: What’s the deal with the defense?
Douglas: I think they will be all right. Everybody’s new to their assignments, and everybody’s new with their coach. Obviously when you have a change in coaching it has an effect. We have a great defense, and I believe in them 100 percent.
Technician: Describe the differences between you and fellow wide receiver Mario Urrutia and what you each bring to the table.Douglas: I’m more of a quicker type of receiver, faster receiver. He’s more physical, but at the same time, does a great job getting off the line against press coverage. He’s a great receiver also.
Technician: N.C. State also has a new head coach just like you guys. What’s it been like adjusting to Steve Kragthorpe?
Douglas: It’s been all right to me. This is my third coach, so it’s easy for me. When I first got here, I committed to John L. Smith, and then he left. Coach Petrino came in, and then he left and coach [Kragthorpe] came in. At the same time, it’s life. You have to deal with things like that. It’s how you take it that defines how your outcome can be.
