For the third-straight week, four former NC State quarterbacks started in the National Football League, highlighted by a head-to-head matchup Sunday night between Russell Wilson and Jacoby Brissett. Here is a look at how the Pack’s professional alumni fared this week:
Russell Wilson, Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks
Wilson led the Seahawks to a victory over the Indianapolis Colts Sunday night with 295 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. On top of having only five incomplete passes, Wilson also recorded 38 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Jacoby Brissett, Quarterback, Indianapolis Colts
In a matchup with Wilson’s Seahawks, Brissett struggled against a strong Seattle defense throwing for only 157 yards, a touchdown, an interception and two fumbles in the 46-18 loss to the Seahawks.
Mike Glennon, Quarterback, Chicago Bears
In a Thursday night rivalry matchup against the Packers, Glennon and the Bears made costly mistakes that left them on the wrong side of 35-14 game at Lambeau Field. Glennon had four turnovers, two interceptions and two lost fumbles, and passed for 218 yards and a touchdown.
Following the results of this game, the Bears are planning to start rookie Mitchell Trubisky, who was drafted second overall out of UNC-Chapel Hill this year, at quarterback next week against the Vikings.
Philip Rivers, Quarterback, Los Angeles Chargers
Rivers had one of his best games of the season so far with 347 yards, two touchdowns and no picks against the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite the good numbers, a costly fumble proved detrimental to the Chargers as they lost 26-24 and dropped to 0-4 on the season.
Stephen Hauschka, Kicker, Buffalo Bills
The Bills placekicker kept his consistency in a 23-17 win over the Falcons. Hauschka went three for three for field goals, including two that were longer than 50 yards, and made both extra points.
Dontae Johnson, Cornerback, San Francisco 49ers
In an overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals, Johnson was second on his team with eight total tackles and defended two passes in the 18-15 loss.
Josh Jones, Safety, Green Bay Packers
The rookie safety had three tackles Thursday night in the Packers 35-14 win over the rival Bears. Jones’ defense faced off against Glennon.
