Technician presents The Joy of Gaming Podcast: Episode 2 – Retro remakes, reissues and revivals
Welcome to the second episode of NC State’s first ever Video Game Podcast, “The Joy of Gaming.”
On this episode, Rich Lepore, Tim MacNeil and Jordan Alsaqa tackle the ever-growing catalog of newly released, yet retro-inspired, or straight-up retro games. In other words, games that feel like their from the 80’s or 90’s, but came out just recently.
Thew crew talks about recent releases like Perfect Dark XBLA, Mega Man 10 and Cave Story, as well as some older games like Shadow Complex, Banjo-Kazooie and Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
Upcoming releases such as Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 and 3D Dot Game Heroes are also on the agenda, and at the end, the crew waxes theoretical on the difference between 2D and 3D, and whether one is better than the other.
Join us for a fun-filled, hour-and-seven-minute oddyssey into the very nature of games themselves. Or, in other words, a group of 3 guys that play a lot of games and have some interesting things to say.
The music in this episode was furnished by: Sonic The Hedgehog, Street Fighter 2, Mega Man and Banjo-Kazooie. Thanks go to Sega, Capcom, and Rare/Nintendo, respectively.
