NC State graduate forward Wyatt Walker will not return next season; the team confirmed Thursday that he will forgo his final season of college eligibility and exit the program.
Walker started 35 of 36 games last season, averaging 17.9 minutes, 4.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. His best performance came in NC State’s overtime loss to Virginia at PNC Arena, in which he posted 11 points and seven rebounds in 30 minutes.
Despite Walker’s exit, NC State still has plenty of big men on next year’s roster with redshirt sophomore DJ Funderburk, grad transfer Pat Andree and redshirt freshman Manny Bates. Walker’s exit, combined with the addition of Andree and guard Thomas Allen, leaves NC State with 12 of 13 scholarship spots filled for next season.
