On Sunday, it was reported in a Wolf Alert that an unidentified male attempted to follow a female student’s into her suite in Sullivan Hall at 4 p.m.
“The male told the student he was waiting to meet his friend there,” the notice stated on Facebook. “As the female student was closing her room door, the male grabbed the door handle in an attempt to enter her room. She was able to close the door and the male left the suite.”
According to the notice, the man was described as 6 ft. tall, 180-200 lbs., black, in his 20s, has facial hair and was wearing a dark blue Champion sweatpants, dark blue UNC t-shirt, a dark hoodie and a ball cap.
While NC State is a public institution that can be accessed by the general public, according to REG 04.05.01 of NC State’s Policies, Rules and Regulations, if an individual is engaging in behavior that presents a threat or risk to the safety and security of the university community of property, they may be trespassed.
University police also released photos taken from the security cameras of the male in one of the study lounges located in the residence hall.
At this time, university police has no more information on the individual or the incident and has asked that people with information about the male contact university police. A warrant has not been issued for the individual’s arrest.
