High Cotton, a men's accessories store in downtown Raleigh hold their annual Collegiate Design Competition. The company looks to N.C. State Univeristy students to design and submit a paisley design. The designs are then votted on, and then the winning design will become part of the spring bow tie collection. Pictured are four of the submissions for this years competition.

NC State’s Waste Reduction and Recycling Office collaborated with University Housing to form The Pizza Box Composting Project. These dumpsters can be found in six different locations on campus. The project has expanded to also include composting locations at Carter-Finley Stadium.

Jacob Jones, a professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, stands next to the FEI Titan Electron microscope (STEM). The FEI Titan STEM microscope is the most advanced aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscope in a research park in North America. Jones is the director of the Analytical Instrumentation Facility (AIF) at NC State, a university and regional resource for materials characterization. Jones has published more than 100 papers and delivered more than 60 invited lectures on these topics since 2004. He has also received numerous awards on his research and educational activities.

Campus Farmers’ Market has now moved from its usual location on the Brickyard to 2306 Hillsborough Street next to Jimmy John’s, for the summer. Every Wednesday from 10 am to 3 pm, vendors will be selling local goods. The market will run at this location until August 19.
