February 27, 2017
Laura Widman holds a book on Child Adolescent Sexuality on Tuesday. Widman is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology, currently researching on the understanding and the improvement of sexual health, especially among teenagers. Her research strongly emphasis on the communication skill development on the sexual topics and the prevention on HIV/STD. Widman accomplished many successful research projects, including the publishing of a meta-analysis in health psychology, and many others that are still ongoing. The newest research she is doing is Project HEART (Health Education and Relationship Training). Project HEART is an interactive, web-based sexual health program for teenage girls from ages 15-19. Right now, she is creating a program that provide more participants, including males.

Genetta Young, junior studying chemistry, fences against Kyle Sozanski, a senior studying ecology, evolution and conservation biology, and also the Vice President of the Fencing Club on Wednesday. The members of the club practice their fencing skills in the Carmichael Gymnasium every week on Monday and Wednesday nights.

Fernandez has five unassisted tackles and seven assisted tackles. Moore has three unassisted tackles and three assisted tackles. Walker has six receptions with total of 78 yards. The game against Boston College ended with a 21-14 loss for NC State.

The granite headstone of Georgia H. Andrews (1895-1971) and David W. Andrews (1880-1970) is located at Oberlin Cemetery Friday. The Andrews headstone is the most recently dated monument in the original Oberlin section.

Maggie Simon, an assistant professor of English at NC State, came out to D.H. Hill to discuss how academics are using comics and graphic novels in literature classroom lectures on Thursday. Simons explains the relationship between comics and traditional journalistic writing, along with the advantage they may bring to us.

Jonathan Kreisberg, Lonnie Smith and Johnathan Blake join together at the Stewart Theatre on Saturday to peform. Kreisberg is an American jazz guitarist and a composer. Smith is a jazz musician, composer and recording artist. Blake is a Grammy-nominated drummer and composer.
