A clipping from an English Boxwood plant displaying atypical fungal infection, due to laboratory conditions. Usually the most visible symptom is black blotches on the plant's leaves, rather than this fuzzy fungal mycelium on their undersides. The fungus was identified in North Carolina in 2011, but has been present in Europe for at least 15 years. It was likely introduced through the importation of infected plants.
