Lupin, a corpse flower housed in Marye Anne Fox Teaching Greenhouses blooms in front a crowd on Thursday, Sept. 22. Lupin was on display Saturday for spectators to see and smell.
The titan arum (scientific name amorphophallus titanum), also known as the corpse flower, began to bloom on Thursday. As it blooms, it will become more than 3 feet wide and begin to smell like the odor of rotting flesh. The flower will wilt after only 24 hours.
